My Trip to Melbourne

Last holiday, I went to Melbourne, Australia with my family. The reason we went there is to accompany my sister and help her settle there since she is going to be living there for the next three and a half years to continue her study there. It was an amazing holiday.

We depart from Jakarta to Melbourne on the 20th of June and arrived there the next day. On the first day there, we didn't really do anything because we were very tired since we barely got enough sleep during the flight. At night, we went out to a Japanese restaurant for dinner.

On the second day, we went to two malls called Melbourne Central and QV to buy food and cleaning supplies for my sister. We also went to Max Brenner Chocolate Bar to get some hot chocolate. At night, we went to Chinatown and ate at a Chinese restaurant.

On the next day, the weather wasn't as friendly as the previous days. It was a stormy day, but we still went outside. At first we went to the Indonesian Embassy to report our arrival and then we went to the bank to set up an account for my sister. We also went to Melbourne Central to buy some food for dinner.

On the fourth day, my sister and I went to the movies to watch 'The Fault in Our Stars'. My parents didn't join us because my dad had to meet with a guy to see other apartments and my mom was sick.

On the fifth day, we met Caleb's family in my sister's apartment building because Caleb's sister would also stay there. After chatting for a while with his family, we went to an ice cream shop called Messina to get some ice cream for me and my sister. Even though it's winter in Australia, we still wanted to enjoy delicious ice cream :D.

On the sixth day, my family and Caleb's family walked altogether to the Melbourne University Campus to join the parents' meeting.

On the seventh day, my dad and I went to a shoe store to buy a pair of shoes for my aunt. My sister didn't join us as she had to go to school. My mom couldn't join us because she wasn't allowed to go outside since she was sick. In the evening, my sister and I celebrated my birthday in a Nando's restaurant and we also bought some food for our parents.

On the eighth and ninth day, I didn't go anywhere since I had a fever and had to stay and rest at the apartment with my mom.

On the tenth and last day, my parents and I said goodbye to my sister. We were very sad to leave her. We went home and arrived in Jakarta at night.

Overall it was an amazing trip. I really enjoyed it even though there was some not-so-good moments in it.

Numbered Stars

Number the Stars is one of the most fascinating books I have ever read. It’s about being brave; conquering all the fears in life and taking risks for other people’s safety. The story tells us about Annemarie, a 10-year-old girl who lived in Copenhagen, Denmark during the World War II. She had to help her Jewish best friend, Ellen, from being caught by the Nazi soldiers as they were going to relocate all the Danish Jews. She was very loyal to Ellen as she did whatever it takes to be able to save her from the Nazi soldiers.

I really like the book because it has a really great story that teaches us valuable lessons. One of the valuable lessons is that we have to be able to overcome our fears and take risks, like what Annemarie did. Another lesson that I found from the book is that we have to appreciate what we have because we might be able to lose it someday. In the story, Annemarie appreciated all the things that she had, like her best friend, her sister, her parents, and lots of other things. While in my life, I sometimes don’t appreciate what I have, like all the good friends I have. I also learn to be more faithful to my friends and be there for them when they need me.

Even though this book is based on a true event, some of the things mentioned in the book can be metaphors. One of them is Ellen’s Star of David necklace that was hidden from the soldiers, it represents our devotion to our friends, but in the historical event, the Star of David symbolized the Jews. The soldiers represent our fears or problems in life. The Danish Resistance represents the bravery that we need to overcome our fears or problems. Annemarie is also a metaphor, she represents people with lots of fear. Ellen represents people with problems in their life.

I think this book is a very good book. If I were a critic, I would give this book a score of 9 out of 10. I really recommend this book for people who aren’t brave enough to conquer their fears or overcome their problems and who don’t appreciate what they have. I hope after you read the book you would learn valuable life lessons like I did.

Stay the Night lyrics (by Zedd ft. Hayley Williams)

[Hayley Williams]
I know that we are upside down
So hold your tongue and hear me out
I know that we were made to break
So what? I don't mind

You kill the lights, I'll draw the blinds
Don't dull the sparkle in your eyes
I know that we were made to break
So what? I don't mind

Are you gonna stay the night?
Are you gonna stay the night?
Oh oh oh, are you gonna stay the night?

Are you gonna stay the night?
Doesn't mean we're bound for life
So oh oh oh, are you gonna stay the night?

[Beat break]

Are you gonna stay the night
Doesn't mean we're bound for life
So oh oh, are you gonna stay the night

I am a fire, you're gasoline,
Come pour yourself all over me
We'll let this place go down in flames only one more time

You kill the lights, I'll draw the blinds
Don't dull the sparkle in your eyes
I know that we were made to break
So what? I don't mind

Are you gonna stay the night?
Are you gonna stay the night?
Oh oh oh, are you gonna stay the night?

Are you gonna stay the night? (we get burned!)
Doesn't mean we're bound for life (we never learn!)
So oh oh, are you gonna stay the night?
Night night night night night...

[Beat break]

ARE YOU GONNA STAY THE NIGHT?!

[Beat break]

Are you gonna stay the night?
Doesn't mean we're bound for life
So oh oh, are you gonna stay the night?

[Zedd:]
Are you gonna stay the night?
Are you gonna stay the night?
Oh oh oh oh.
Are you gonna stay the night?

Counting Stars lyrics (by One Republic)

[Chorus]
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars
Yeah, we'll be counting stars

[Verse 1]
I see this life
Like a swinging vine
Swing my heart across the line
In my face is flashing signs
Seek it out and ye shall find

Old, but I'm not that old
Young, but I'm not that bold
And I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told

I feel something so right
By doing the wrong thing
And I feel something so wrong
By doing the right thing
I couldn't lie, couldn't lie, couldn't lie
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

[Chorus]
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be, we'll be counting stars

[Verse 2]
I feel the love
And I feel it burn
Down this river every turn
Hope is our four letter word
Make that money
Watch it burn

Old, but I'm not that old
Young, but I'm not that bold
And I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told

And I feel something so wrong
By doing the right thing
I couldn't lie, couldn't lie, couldn't lie
Everything that drowns me makes me wanna fly

[Chorus]
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be, we'll be counting stars

Oh, oh, oh.

[Bridge 4x:]
Take that money
Watch it burn
Sing in the river
The lessons I learned

Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

[Chorus]
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be, we'll be counting stars

[Outro 4x:]
Take that money
Watch it burn
Sing in the river
The lessons I learned

Haunted lyrics (By Taylor Swift)

You and I walk a fragile line
I have known it all this time
but I never thought I'd live to see it break
It's getting dark and it's all too quiet
And I can't trust anything now
And it's coming over you like it's all a big mistake

Oh, I'm holding my breath
Won't lose you again
something's made your eyes go cold

Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something's gone terribly wrong
You're all I wanted
Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Can't breathe whenever you're gone
Can't turn back now, I'm haunted

Stood there and watched you walk away
From everything we had
But I still mean every word I said to you
He would try to take away my pain
And he just might make me smile
But the whole time I'm wishing he was you instead

Oh, I'm holding my breath
Won't see you again
something keeps me holding on to nothing

Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something's gone terribly wrong
You're all I wanted
Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Can't breathe whenever you're gone
Can't turn back now, I'm haunted

I know, I know, I just know
You're not gone. You can't be gone. No.

Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something's gone terribly wrong
Won't finish what you started
Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Can't breathe whenever you're gone
Can't go back, I'm haunted

Oh

You and I walk a fragile line
I have known it all this time
Never ever thought I'd see it break.
Never thought I'd see it...

Slow Down lyrics (By Selena Gomez)

Now that I have captured your attention
I wanna steal you for a rhythm intervention
Mr. TSA*, I'm ready for inspection
Sh-sh-show me how you make a first impression

Oh, oh
Can we take it nice and slow, slow
Break it down and drop it low, low
Cause I just wanna party all night in the neon lights 'til you can't let me go

I just wanna feel your body right next to mine
All night long
Baby, slow down the song
And when it's coming closer to the end hit "Rewind"
All night long
Baby, slow down the song

Oh oh oh oh
Yeah, baby, slow down the song
Oh oh oh oh
Yeah, baby, slow down the song

If you want me I'm accepting applications
So long as we can keep this record on rotation
You know I'm good with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation
Breathe me in, breathe me out
So amazing

Oh, oh
Can we take it nice and slow, slow
Break it down and drop it low, low
Cause I just wanna party all night in the neon lights 'til you can't let me go

I just wanna feel your body right next to mine
All night long
Baby, slow down the song
And when it's coming closer to the end hit "Rewind"
All night long
Baby, slow down the song

Oh oh oh oh
Yeah, baby, slow down the song
Oh oh oh oh
Yeah, baby, slow down the song

Breathe me in, breathe me out
The music's got me going
Breathe me in, breathe me out
No stoppin til the morning
Breathe me in, breathe me out
You know I'm ready for it
For it, for it!
Yeah!

Breathe me in, breathe me out
The music's got me going
Breathe me in, breathe me out
No stoppin til the morning
Breathe me in, breathe me out
You know I'm ready for it
For it, for it!
Yeah!

(I-It's The Cataracs)

I just wanna feel your body right next to mine
All night long
Baby, slow down the song
And when it's coming closer to the end hit "Rewind"
All night long
Baby, slow down the song

Oh oh oh oh
Yeah, baby, slow down the song
Oh oh oh oh
Yeah, baby, slow down the song

How do I do it?
I-I-It's The Cataracs

Ha ha ha ha
